Tamara Grimm, MSW, LISW-CP
My life’s work is helping people recover from the impact of personal, social, and societal barriers in order to live the most peaceful and meaningful lives possible. I have been aware that this was my life’s work since childhood, though it took me 10+ years of college/graduate/doctoral education and 16 years professional experience to start flow. I am thrilled to own my own company and am excited to work with you!
I have 16 years post master’s experience in social work and hold a master’s degree in social work from the University of Cincinnati and have completed all PhD coursework at the University of South Carolina (dissertation in progress). I have specialized mental health training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I am also a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), with specialized training in yoga nidra, a form of deep relaxation. It is common for me to integrate yoga related theories (such as the intimate connection between mind, body, and spirit) and skills (such as breath-work for relaxation and guided meditation for sleep induction) into my work with clients. My clients have expressed appreciation for these types of complementary and alternative perspectives and skills that I bring to the therapeutic process.
My style is uniquely crafted to your personal circumstances.
I understand that your situation is influenced by your own health (physical and mental), as well as your social networks (family, friends, affiliations) and societal level factors (such as sexism or racism). Sometimes people need help recovering from a mental health disorder and other times, people need help coping with the society we live in or leaving toxic relationships.

Patient well-being is my number one priority, and I will go above and beyond to help you through all of your obstacles.
